zags starters in 06/07?
i can hardly wait for another year of gonzaga basketball. Taking a read through the Zagshoops message board (it will always be Zagshoops to me) I came upon an interesting thread regarding who will start for the team.
Here is who I would go run with:
PG- Pargo
SG- Ravio
SF- Pendo
PF- Mallon
C- Heytvelt
This team is deeeeeep, its gonna […]
fall in seattle
Today felt like fall in Seattle. I love and fear the transitional time between seasons here. Depending on how you look at it, fall in Seattle is either a really short period of time (a few weeks in October) or a really long period of time combined with spring (October thru June). I like to […]
Zags Offseason Chatter
GU has a high profile transfer, Micah Downs, who will be playing for the Zags in late December after he completes the fall semester. Downs comes with some question marks and rumors of not being a great team player or a good fit for the program. He also comes from a family that is interesting […]
Trading the Sonics for the Reds
I was just thinking this week - I don’t even like the NBA, I don’t like the way the game is played, I don’t have a team (other than the default hometown Sonics and my childhood team Boston Celtics who haven’t been worth watching for 15 years). Do I really care if the Sonics previous […]
NBA Draft - Booo!
Top 4 reasons the NBA Draft didn’t go as I hoped.
Adam Morrison to Charlotte. The Bobcats will never be on tv in Seattle. Check that, they will be on tv twice – once when they play in Seattle and once when Seattle plays out there.
Sonics Draft Sene. The Sonics might as well have thrown in […]
EndScore
I will be contributing to the EndScore sports blog, a part of the GearLive network, on an occasional basis.
I’m very excited to share my thoughts on the sports world with this audience and felt that my first post had to be Zag related - Draft the Stache!
Quick Thoughts on a Quick Week
It’s been a busy week and I haven’t had time for the usual 4 or 5 blog posts. Time to make up some ground.
I’m going to watch the dreadful Mariners at Safeco tomorrow night… I hope the weather holds.
The NBA Playoffs have been incredible this year. Great games, great matchups, and the style of the […]
Things you never thought possible…
I never thought I would see the day where Gonzaga was headlining an event in front of North Carolina.
From an AP report:
“Gonzaga and North Carolina headline the field for next season’s newly formatted NIT Season Tip-Off.”
Zags 06/07 Tentative Schedule
This is going to be a tough road for the next Zag team. I love to see names like Duke, Texas, and Memphis on the line. Ultimately, I think this will be the toughest schedule we have ever lined up, especially if the team can make it to Madison Square Garden in the preseason NIT.
San […]
Turiafian!
Ronny Turiaf is seeing his first NBA playoff action tonight against the Suns. This is actually the first time I have seen him on the floor for a significant amount of time during an NBA game, and he is looking really sharp (aside from the trademark Turiaf mistakes of rediculous fouls and traveling violations) In about 6 minutes […]
Rome’s Rule: Have an Opinion and Don’t Suck
I was questioned by a good friend on what my opinion of Adam Morrison’s early departure to the NBA was since I didn’t include that in my post yesterday. Like Spitzer I have three points for this one.
Adam Morrison was a great Zag. His competitiveness and ability to score when it mattered most are what […]
See ya Adam
Here are my thoughts as the Adam Morrison “Going Pro” press conference is streamed live from Spokane, WA.
KHQ has posted a mug shot-esque picture of Morrison on their site
Morrison needs to take a broadcast training. A lot of using Uh, uh.
He gave a shout out to the Kennel Club and said Gonzaga is one of the […]
the best email of the day
Because Tom Gleason is the best written accountant I have ever met, and he puts it so well, I have to share:
From: Tom.Gleason

To: Sean O’Connor; and others
Subject: Why I Love The Zags…
let me preface this email by saying this one hurts, this one hurts really bad. it’s going […]
The Zags
I’m proud of these guys. Despite the disapointing finish, these guys provided yet another phenomenal season with great games, great plays, and provided many of us with a reason to get together with friends twice a week from November through the end of March. For all that, I thank them!
That said, the next […]
