Le Tour
What an incredible summer for worldwide sporting events. From the Euro Cup to the French Open and Wimbledon to the Tour De France…. I’ve been able to turn on the tube everyday and watch interesting international sporting action.
And, the Olympics are right around the corner.
It’s been enough to make a Seattlite forget about […]
Spring Means Golf
One of the things I really want to do more of in 2008 is play more golf. It’s felt like Spring in the Pacific Northwest the past few days, with temperatures soaring into the 60’s. Driving around Bellevue and Seattle I’ve noticed multiple courses with numerous groups out enjoying the weather.
I suppose the other […]
Roger will BE misremembered
the baseball steroids/hgh saga is really unfortunate. Roger Clemens was too good for this.
Super Bowl: My Running Diary
I figured I’d put together a running super bowl blog post with thoughts on the big advertising event game from the perspective of an online marketer and a lifelong fan of real football.
10:05 AM - ESPN does a pretty great job of pre gaming, with Steve Young, Chris Berman, Chris Mortenson, and company bringing […]
Who needs the Huskies when you’ve got the Cougs
I’m sitting around taking in the college basketball season that has just started and looking at the big games coming up on the Zags schedule. St Joes, UConn, Wazzu, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Memphis…
I realized that something was missing, and then remembered that the Huskies decided they couldn’t handle any more losses to the Zags in […]
What is the (sports) world coming to?
1. Michael Vick and his dog-fighting case in the NFL.
2. David Sterns front page news dealing with an official with mafia ties
3. Barry Bonds breaking the most sacred record in all of sports (*)
4. The Tour de France finds yet another rider guilty of breaking thier doping rules and his entire team drops out today […]
Griffey Jr WAS the best
There’s some nice coverage anticipating Ken Griffey Jr’s return to Seattle in the Times today - http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2003753289_griffey19.html.
I’m actually looking forward to this too and would like to be there on Friday when Griffey comes back to Seattle for the first time since he last played here in 99. Griffey was easily my childhood hero […]
I’m a Mariners Bandwagon Fan
I’m back on the Mariners bandwagon after reading that they swept the Padres this weekend - http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2003742793_mari11.html
Could baseball finally be exciting again in Seattle? Will Beltre and that tall overpaid first baseman finally start earing thier money? Is Jose Lopez the best young second baseman in baseball? How good can Felix be this year? […]
Clay Bennett continues to LIE
Some might call it posturing, but I’d rather call it what it is - Lying.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sonics/2003683358_sonics27m.html
Clay Bennett continues to show the Sonics fans and residents of Washington that he can not be trusted by his constant lying about his intentions. In turn, Howard Schultz should not be trusted either -remember when Schultz said that he […]
Zags 07/08 Schedule Coming Together
Today, the message board formerly known as Zagshoops (which I refuse to link to) revealed that the 07 Zags will be traveling back east to take on the UConn Huskies on a (semi) neutral court in Boston. Revenge. The Huskies have beaten us twice over the past 10 years when it mattered most.
The Final Four is Boring
This years NCAA Tournament has been boring: only a handful of really good games, no cinderellas, no big upsets, and no really interesting storylines.
If it weren’t for some damn good journalism from ESPN’s guest blogger, Chuck Klosterman, and Red from PocketExpress I wouldn’t even know who was playing in the finals tonight.
It seems […]
Deadspin is the Gospel of the Tournament
If you haven’t checked out Deadspin lately, please do so - Deadspin. Their run up coverage of the NCAA Tournament has been better than stellar. They basically asked an expert fan from each school to share some facts about each team prior to the tournament beginning. here are a couple of my favorites […]
Highlighted Zags Coverage
The New York Times ran a really solid article on this years Zag squad today. Check it out - Gonzaga Pulls Together By Leaving One Behind.
