PR musings
I don’t blog very much about work, because I feel like keeping work and the blog separate might be a good idea… kind of like the separation of church and state. The two might play nice with each other, but then again… you might be playing with fire.
At any rate, today was an interesting day in the world of PR and blogging. Edelman is making a big run at hiring in blogging expertise, with their addition of Steve Rubel announced today. Granted, professionals move around all of the time, but this was mentioned on a lot of industry blogs today.
Perhaps, even more interesting, on his 85th birthday Harold Burson started to blog. His blog can be found here. Harold writes about reading, what he reads, and how important he thinks it is in every day life. I read all day long at work, but when I get home it often becomes the last thing I want to do. I love the point that Harold makes about being able to know a something about a lot of stuff, and how important it is in being able to really connect with a new acquantaince within the first 30-60 seconds.
