Business Figure I would most like to meet: Mark Cuban
Mark Cuban is one of the people in the business world that I would most like to meet. You can say what you want about his show “The Benefactor” being a flop (and it was), or him making it big just because of the Broadcast.com IPO, but ultimatately Cuban is opinionated, passionate, and interesting. I’ve enjoyed reading his blog for a couple of years now.
Today he posted a thoughtful, if long winded, entry on the future of TV via the internet - Following the Rich Media money. He discusses how the advertising dollars are flowing into entreprenuers who are creating this content. In the end, he feels that this model is flawed because the popularity of a show can escalate before advertising dollars are secured, and after the bandwidth bills are through the roof.
I think the creators of all this targeted content will find a way to balance advertisements and bandwidth costs. What do you think?
