# 9 - Battle in Seattle 2003

I have some [retty vivid memories from this one as well, and thats a good thing since it was a little more than 2 years ago. Game Day started out with Val and I filling our small 600 square foot 2 bedroom apartment on Queen Anne with well over 35 zag fans(including my parents), a keg of beer, great food, and my parents… all before 9 am. Our neighbors loved us!
The day continued with Ronny Turiaf and Blake Stepp leading the Zags to an overtime win over Quin Snyder’s Missouri Tigers, who were ranked in the Top 5 at the time. It turned out that the Tigers were highly overrated, but it was sure a big win at the time. Key Arena was super-charged on that December day, and all the Seatlle Zags enjoyed having a game only blocks away from home.
We wrapped up Battle in Seattle 1 with a memorable evening of Gonzaga chants and commeraderie at Chopstix in Lower Queen Anne.
